A message from the Foundation
As the 2025–2026 financial year draws to a close, we reflect with heartfelt gratitude on the lives that have been supported through the Lisa Fahey Foundation.
Behind every donation is a family finding relief during one of the most difficult periods of their lives. This generosity provides far more than financial assistance; it brings comfort, dignity, and hope when families need it most.
This year, thanks to compassionate supporters, the Lisa Fahey Foundation provided approximately $20,000 in direct assistance to more than 18 South Australian families affected by cancer.
These contributions helped cover essential living expenses, including rent, water, electricity services, car registration, and other urgent household costs — easing the immense financial pressure that so often comes alongside a cancer diagnosis. For many families, this support meant being able to stay warm during the colder months, the ability to feed their family, and time to focus on loved ones instead of financial stress.
As we look ahead, the need for your support continues to grow. With your continued generosity, the Foundation can keep standing beside South Australian families through every stage of their cancer journey — offering practical relief, compassion, and hope when it matters most.
All donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

Margaret's Story
Margaret's biggest concern wasn't the gardening.
But as she underwent treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer and was no longer able to work, maintaining her rental property became increasingly difficult. When the gardening fell behind, she worried about breaching the conditions of her lease at a time when finding somewhere else to live was the last thing she could manage.
At the same time, unpaid electricity bills continued to accumulate as her household income reduced.
Through a referral from her social worker, the Lisa Fahey Foundation was able to step in and provide practical support — covering Margaret's outstanding power bills and arranging the gardening work needed to bring the property back into compliance.
The assistance was relatively simple. The impact was significant.
Instead of worrying about overdue notices, lease obligations and mounting household costs, Margaret was able to focus on her treatment and recovery.
Every week, social workers across South Australia refer families facing similar challenges. Often, the difference between coping and crisis is not a large amount of money — it's timely support at exactly the right moment.
That's the difference our supporters make.
